Middot - Core Values

kabbalatshabbatHerzl/RMHA is dedicated to a focus on middot, behavior informed by Jewish values, in all grades.

We commit to treat each other with respect, honor, sensitivity and dignity (B’Tzelem Elohim).

We commit to being understanding and accepting of each other’s differences as one community; and, we commit to the eternity of the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. (Klal Yisrael/Ahavat Yisrael/Ahavat Eretz Yisrael).

We commit to creating the best possible Jewish learning environment including the love of learning Torah and secular knowledge; which in turn leads to the fulfillment of Mitzvot and the Sanctification of The Divine Name (Ahavat Torah/Mitzvot/Kiddush HA-SHEM).

We commit to being responsible for making our speech and actions exemplary for ourselves and each other, our families, Herzl/RMHA and the Jewish community as a whole (Derekh Eretz).

We commit to fostering an environment where students, faculty, parents, and staff – all of whom are empowered to weigh their actions with compassion – are entitled to their respective levels of honor (Kavod/Rachamanut).

We commit to being truthful with each other in all that we do (Emet).

We commit to relaying positive information about our school and community, and to refrain from spreading gossip (Shemeerat Ha-lashon).

We commit to showing modesty in our dress, in our speech, and in our interactions with others (Tzeni’ut).

We commit to perform righteous acts so we can build a foundation for Herzl/RMHA based on the fundamentals of Judaism (Tzedakah).

We commit to taking the steps to ensure peace in our house and between members of our community (Shalom Bayit).
