PRESIDENT/CEO

 Thank You
As the 2009-10 school year comes to a close I want to thank our outstanding faculty for providing our students with interesting, challenging and insightful lessons day in and day out. Their dedication to our students and our school is exceptional and we are lucky to have them.

A heartfelt thank you to the Herzl/RMHA education and business administrative team who work tirelessly throughout the year to put in place the best possible experience for everyone in our school. Thank you to the office staff for everything they do to keep our offices running so smoothly. They really do a fantastic job. A hearty thank you goes out to our maintenance staff for everything they do around the campus from getting things set up to keeping everything in working order. Thank you also to Canteen Catering for the wonderful food.

I also wish the best to our faculty and staff members who are retiring after years of dedicated service to our school. I thank you for the positive impact you had on our community and hope that the years to come are filled with joy and happiness.

A simple thank you to the PTO hardly seems like enough. They help our school in so many different ways. The PTO's impact on our school is tremendous and for that I offer a heartfelt thank you.

I want to offer a big thank you to the Board of Trustees for all of their support this year. A special thank you goes to David Brown for his insightful leadership and tremendous support as Chair of the Board these past two years. Congratulations to David Foster, whose term as board chair officially begins on July 1.

Lastly, I want to thank the students and parents of our school. You are the reason we are here and it is has been a joy working with you. The community of Denver is blessed to have such an outstanding community Jewish Day School and I feel blessed to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing you at the start of the 2010-11 school year as we move into a new era with a new name, Denver Jewish Day School.

Shabbat shalom and have a great summer,

 Avid 4 Adventure
Avid 4 Adventure came to school and was a hit! According to your kids, they had fun and learned some! Stefanie Jacobs scurried past her daughter, Ilana, up the rock wall! Check out this two minute video of the Herzl RMHA adventure!

STUDENT COMMUNITY PROJECTS

 Angelman Syndrome Foundation Fundraising
We want to send our sincere gratitude to the Herzl/RMHA community for your tremendous support of the National Angelman Syndrome Foundation annual walk-a-thon. The organization seeks therapies, prevention and a cure to Angelman Syndrome (AS) through education, information exchange and support for research. AS is a neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in 1 in 15,000 live births. AS is often mis-diagnosed as cerebral palsy or autism. Characteristics of AS include developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals with Angelman Syndrome cannot speak and require life-long care. This year, you all helped us surpass our family fundraising goal by over 50% for a total of $3800. We are proud that over the past three years, your contributions have helped us to raise close to $10,000 for this cause. In recent years, there have been some amazing break-throughs in AS research that may positively impact not only AS, but also autism, cerebral palsy and many other neurological and genetic disorders. Your support has given hope to many.

Sincerely,
Doniel, Asher and Avi Kaye
