FROM THE PRESIDENT/CEO

Thriving Athletic Program at Herzl/RMHA
I
am so pleased to be able to say that in addition to the top notch academics at Herzl/RMHA, our Athletic Program is thriving.  The Physical Education program in the Lower School and Upper School has never been better. Teachers are outside at recess leading baseball games and more. Our Blast Program has an outstanding athletic component. Our Upper School Competitive Sports Programs gets better every year and our students are also thriving by competing in their local school districts in sports like tennis that are not offered at Herzl/RMHA. At this time baseball is just getting started and our basketball teams are in the playoffs. Our varsity boys basketball team have playoff games tonight and Saturday night. I invite you to come out and cheer the Tigers on to victory. The feeling you will get while sitting in the stands at a Herzl/RMHA playoff game is simply amazing. Click here for times and locations

Herzl RMHA Yearbooks
The 09-10 Herzl/RMHA yearbook is going to be amazing! Our yearbook staff has been hard at work putting together a book that we will all be proud of. This year the yearbook will be even larger with twice as many pages dedicated to the Lower School.

February is the best month to buy your yearbook. Discounted, personalized yearbooks are on sale for $49 until February 28th. After that date, yearbooks will be sold for $59 (with no personalization) on a first come first serve basis until they are sold out.  Make sure you get yours by ordering your copy now. You can order your yearbook online here or get a form from Brigitte or Kay.

March is national nutrition month

Lauren Davidson and Angel Chelik, our Physical Education Teacher, from the Health and Wellness committee, have been busy planning many special lectures and activities for promoting healthy lifestyles.  Please read the following information from the committee that gives more details about the special activities for nutrition month:

Good nutrition is important all year long, but in celebration of nutrition month, you’ll notice an added focus on health and nutrition in March.

Look for the Nutrition Question of the Day in the front lobby each morning, and test your knowledge. Each grade will also try to discuss the questions in class, and we may even post which classes get the right answers.

Throughout the month, guest speakers will come into each classroom to present on a nutrition topic over lunch. We’re planning to have at least one presentation per classroom. If you’re interested in presenting something, contact Lauren Davidson.

We also want to encourage all our students to eat healthy, nutritious foods and find fun ways to be active. Do your best to pack fresh vegetables and fruits instead of chips and candy for lunch and snacks. Then watch for a graphic snapshot of the Lower School’s eating habits.
