Herzl/RMHA Helping Haiti
Herzl/RMHA, through our PTO and Helping Hands, is working to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. We are conducting a four-week school wide fundraising effort from January 22 - February 19. In the Lower School the effort is called Herzl Helping Haiti. All of the money collected in the big Helping Hands Tzedakah Box in the lobby will go towards Herzl Helping Haiti. Each Lower School class will also continue to raise money for Helping Hands in their respective classroom tzedakah boxes.

The Upper School will have a special Tzedakah box dedicated to victims of the Haiti earthquake. Students and adults in the Upper School who wish to donate money for Haiti can put money in this box, which will be located in the Upper School lobby or office.

All of the money collected for Helping Hands will be sent to Haiti through the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado. AJF has established a Haiti Emergency Relief Fund and 100% of the dollars raised will be sent directly to the victims of Haiti. Federation's overseas partner (the Joint Distribution Committee) is on the ground in Haiti assisting the victims and their families. Coloradans, through AJF gave $20,000 in the first 48 hours of this tragedy. Let's continue that generosity so that lives can be healed. Please tell any relatives, neighbors and friends that our school is raising money for Haiti. And, if they would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it.

Shabbat Shalom,
Avi Halzel
President/CEO
